
VACANCY: Driller / Site Technician
We are looking for a committed and flexible Driller/Site Technician to help with on-site activities, maintenance, and stock control for our site operations department.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities will include:
- Organising equipment required, travelling to the site, packing equipment; some overnights may be necessary
- Helping to undertake windowless sampler boreholes at the site; using water bowser; foundation exposures; working with a breaker;
- Keeping records of works undertaken on the site including pre-start drilling rig checks, vehicle records, drilling logs, vehicle checks;
- Having a good awareness of health and safety so as to ensure that all works are completed safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining equipment to ensure that it operates efficiently when required.
- Maintaining stores supplies.
EXPERIENCE
Candidates with 1 or more years’ experience of working as a driller on a dynamic window sampler and/or Cable Percussion rig or similar would be preferred, although consideration will be given to candidates with other transferable skills and training will be provided.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Independent, effective, well-organised, teamworker, numerate, good communicator, detail conscious, flexible;
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities;
- The position will involve frequent travel across the UK with overnight stays in hotels.
QUALIFICATIONS
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Land Drilling – Preferred
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) – Preferred (training given)
- The position will require an amount of travel across the UK so a clean driving licence is essential. Having a licence to tow a trailer would be advantageous (i.e. B+E, C+E or C1+E entitlement for towing).

Job Type: Full-time (6 month probation period)
Salary: £28,000.00 to £30,000.00 (Depending on experience)
Job Location: Cambourne base, with country wide travel
